Inclusive participation with profound respect insures that every voice is heard, every insight is given an opportunity, every individual feels accepted and honored, and no perspective that causes others to suffer is allowed to dominate. This requires facilitative leadership that honors each individual equally and trusts that both the individuals and the group are capable of doing the work they have set out to do.
For inclusive participation with profound respect to work, however, effective facilitation skills and methods are needed. Without these methods, "participation" simply slides into a situation where anyone and everyone can say and do whatever they individually want to do-and this often means that little is accomplished and many involved feel their precious time, money and energy have been wasted. Effective methods can make it possible for inclusive participation to happen as a creative, energizing, productive, and empowering experience.
